Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This website is operated as MyVanInsurance.co.uk (“we”, “us”). We publish information and guides about van insurance and link to third-party comparison and insurance services. You can contact us about anything in this policy at enquiries@myvaninsurance.co.uk.
The data we collect
- Contact messages – if you use our contact form, it opens your own email application; the name, email address and message you send reach us as an ordinary email, which we keep only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
- Usage data – we use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. This data is collected via cookies and does not directly identify you to us.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, details of your vehicle, policy or claims; quotes happen on the third-party sites we link to, under their own privacy policies.
How we use it
We use contact messages to reply to you, and analytics data to improve the site’s content and performance. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are legitimate interests (running and improving the website, responding to enquiries) and, for analytics cookies, your consent.
Third parties
When you click a quote button, banner or affiliate link you leave this site and arrive at a third-party provider, typically an FCA-regulated comparison service or insurer. Any data you enter there is processed by them under their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read. Our analytics provider (Google) processes usage data on our behalf; see our cookie policy for details of the cookies involved.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection over personal data we hold about you, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of them, email enquiries@myvaninsurance.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the version published on this page is the one that applies.
